The horse is highly trained in the methods of high school equitation, ensuring safety of horse and rider at all times.

In Portugal the bull is not killed in the ring and sometimes the horse will give a demonstration of High school movements before the start of the bullfight.

It is the intentions of the bullfighters to test their fighting abilities.

It is considered a disgrace for a horse to be injured in the ring.

The breed is also used for harness and riding.

They are renowned for their intelligent and agility.

Once trained the horse can display a full range of dressage movements with its high stepping action.
