It has an elegant floating action, with a high head and tail carriage.
The head is small with a “dished” or concave face, large eyes and nostrils, and small muzzles and arched neck.
Many Arabians also have a slight forehead bulge between their eyes, called the "jibbah" by the Bedouin, that adds additional sinus capacity, believed to have helped the horse in its native dry desert climate.

Other distinctive features are a relatively long, level croup, or top of the hindquarters, and naturally high tail carriage.

Height – 14.2 – 15hh,or larger
Coat colors of bay, gray, chestnut, black, and roan are found.
Bay, gray and chestnut being the most common, black are rarely seen.
True roan does not appear to exist in Arabians; rather, Arabians registered by breeders as "roan" are usually expressing rabicano or, sometimes, sabino.
All Arabians, no matter their coat color, have black skin, except under white markings.
Black skin provided protection from the hot desert sun.
The Arabian horses were first bred in the deserts of the Arabian Peninsula, now known as Saudi Arabia.
They have existed for more than 4,000 years.
Their owners regard these strong, tough and fast little desert horses as prized possessions.
Arabians are versatile horses that compete in many equestrian fields.
They dominate the sport of endurance riding because of their stamina and excell at horse racing, Western pleasure, and hunt seat, as well as dressage, cutting, reining, show jumping, eventing, equitation, and others.
They are used for pleasure riding, trail riding, and working ranch horses for those who are not interested in competition.
